In the quiet heat of Cairo, a shared fascination with scent brought two generations of women together — two sisters, their cousin, and their daughters, united by a curiosity for the rich and often forgotten language of Egyptian perfumery.

Egypt has always held a deep relationship with fragrance. From precious oils and aromatic woods to resins, flowers, herbs, and spices, scent has been woven into rituals, celebrations, beauty, and everyday life for centuries. It was an art of layering — combining contrasting materials to create fragrances with depth, warmth, and character.
MER was born from a desire to rediscover that richness and give it a new voice.
We draw inspiration from the materials, landscapes, traditions, and spirit of Egypt, but we don't seek to recreate the past. Instead, we reinterpret it through a contemporary lens — bringing unexpected accords, modern compositions, and a refined sensibility to the depth of Egyptian-inspired perfumery.
The result is a fragrance house that feels rooted yet forward-looking; familiar yet unexpected. Rich resins can meet luminous florals. Ancient woods can sit beside modern accords. Warmth can meet freshness.
